A plain Hugo disappears next to grilled food. Grapefruit juice gives it an edge without switching families into a red bitter. Keep the juice fresh and small. Bottled sweet grapefruit soda is a different, stickier drink.

Pink or yellow grapefruit both work. Pink is a little softer.
